Welcome to the Mills College Writing Center The Writing Center is a free service available to Mills College undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines, and is staffed by friendly trained graduate teaching assistants in our nationally renowned English Department. Students are encouraged to use the Center as a resource and meet with Writing Consultants as needed for one-on-one support—for any type of writing, for any class, and during any stage of the writing process. The Center aims to provide a peer-centered approach to writing in a comfortable environment, where students can interact on equal footing with Writing Consultants, hold productive discussions about their writing, and ask questions in a friendly, non-evaluative atmosphere. Make an appointment online, or call the Center for Academic Excellence at 510.430.3360 for personal assistance. Walk-ins are also accepted as long as a Writing Consultant is available. Have you heard? This year we're in the F. W. Olin Library for drop-in hours. We're not making appointments for the library location at this time, but please feel free to check back for our library hours. Visit the Writing Center blog for helpful tips on grammar, organization, writer's block, and many other writing-related topics. For helpful links pertaining to writing, check out the Writing Center's resource page and be sure to "like" us on Facebook. |
