The priority deadline for receipt of all application materials is February 1 for fall admission. The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program does not accept applications for spring admission. Due to additional application requirements, international applicants must submit all application materials by December 15. Visit our application page to apply online or download forms.
Applications are reviewed when all supporting materials have been received, and official notification of an admission decision is sent in writing from the Office of Graduate Admission. Most programs review applications on a rolling admission basis after the priority deadline.
All applicants to the graduate degree and certificate programs at Mills College are required to submit the following:
Graduate Application for Admission: Complete all sections of the application as indicated, including a required one- to two-page Statement of Purpose essay. The essay should be typed and double spaced.
Supplemental Application: Biochemistry and molecular biology students are required to submit a supplemental application for admission, which details additional program-specific admission requirements.
Application Fee of $50: Payable to Mills College by check or money order, drawn on a U.S. bank. Credit cards and electronic checks are accepted for online application submission. Cash is not accepted.
Standardized Test Scores: Please submit official SAT, ACT, or GRE scores to the Mills College Office of Graduate Admission. You do not need to specify a department.
Two Official Transcripts: Two official transcripts with grades from each post-secondary institution attended toward receipt of bachelor's degree should be sent directly by each institution to the Office of Graduate Admission.
Admission to graduate or post-baccalaureate study at Mills College is contingent upon the possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. If you are still completing your degree at the time of application, send official transcripts showing work completed and in progress.
Immediately upon completion of the baccalaureate degree requirements, it is your responsibility to send a final transcript with the degree posted to our office.
Three Academic Letters of Recommendation: Special recommendation forms are provided on the application page or can be sent as part of the online application.
Note: Current Mills College students and alumnae are only required to submit one letter of recommendation.
In addition to the regular graduate admission requirements, applicants to the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program must submit a supplemental application, as well as official scores for the SAT/ACT or the GRE general test. Mills College's ETS code is 004485. Application to this program is through the post-baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program.
