What about your Mills experience have you continued to benefit from since graduating?

After graduating in 2007 with an MFA, I was honored to accept a teaching position at Sonoma State University. I also had the incredible experience of dancing with Molissa Fenley at Judson Memorial Church and Jacob’s Pillow. The connections made with Mills faculty, alumni, and my fellow classmates have provided a substantial network of support and opportunity. The encouragement of the faculty to trust myself as an artist, experiment as much as possible, and dive head first into creation are forces that I’m not sure I could have found on my own. What tops it all off is that I now and forever will have a community of mentors and colleagues to continue learning from, supporting one another and sharing our creations together.

How has dance helped shape your current work or passions?

Dance has linked me to the world of pilates. The extensive training and education I have gained from the STOTT PILATES® program has given me a deeper understanding of the moving body. I have found dance and pilates to be a grand partnership.
