Mills College School of Education Announces New Fellowship for Urban Practitioners
Mills College is pleased to introduce an urban practitioner fellowship to be awarded to one student committed to serving in a high-needs urban district and pursuing either a teaching credential or an administrative services credential. The fellowship recipient will receive one-year full tuition and become a Center for Urban Schools and Partnerships Fellow. New Scholarship Opportunities We are pleased to announce new scholarships available for the 2012–13 academic year. The first is for Teach for America alumni applying to either the Administrative Services Credential program or the new joint MBA/MA in Educational Leadership Program. Teach for America alumni are eligible to receive scholarships of $5,000 or $10,000 respectively. The second is an Urban Practitioner Award, which will support one recipient with scholarship and assistantship funding that meets full tuition costs. Information Sessions Throughout the academic year, the School of Education hosts monthly information sessions where faculty, staff, and students describe our programs and answer individual questions from prospective students. We explain the admission and financial aid processes and meet in small groups to provide an insider's view of our programs. Light refreshments are served.

Visit Classes During the fall or spring semester, it is possible for applicants to make arrangements to sit in on a class. This gives you a first-hand opportunity to experience life as a student in the School of Education at Mills. It is essential that you gain permission of the instructor ahead of time, so please call 510.430.3170 and we'll provide you with a schedule of dates and times for classes that are available to visit.
Tour the Mills College Children’s School One of the unique features of the School of Education is the innovative on-campus laboratory school. The oldest school of its kind in the West, the Children's School offers a unique opportunity for study and research. Individual or small group tours of the Children’s School may be arranged by calling 510.430.2118.

Individual Interviews We take a highly personalized approach to admitting students into our programs, so every applicant is interviewed by at least one faculty member. We will contact you once your application is complete, but if you live out of the area, you are encouraged to let us know when a visit would be convenient, or we can arrange a telephone interview.
