We are a community of faculty, staff, students, and alumnae/i who share a set of common commitments to improve the education and life chances of children and youth in Oakland, throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, and across the globe.
Our faculty, staff, students and alumnae/i are diverse in terms of our racial, linguistic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, age, life experience, expertise, and interests. We are united by our belief in the importance of education to create a more just and equitable society. Our community extends beyond the walls of our buildings on campus to include our colleagues in hospitals and a variety of educational settings. Our community partners, including the Mills College Children's School, play a critical role in the education of our students and the work of our faculty; they are integral to our vision of leadership, equity, and collaboration.
