Each year, The Place for Writers presents a Professional Survival Weekend, dedicated to helping MA and MFA students transition from their graduate study to professional life. Writers, editors, publishers, teachers, and alumnae discuss career opportunities, writing communities, creative "day jobs," and other helpful information. 

In fall 2007, Professional Survival Weekend will take place over two days in the Mills Hall Living Room and classrooms. The event will be free and open to the public to encourage wider networking opportunities for students.
