Mills MBA Career Services offers a variety of activities to facilitate an effective job search and career management process. With personalized service ranging from one-on-one career counseling to help with resume writing and interview preparation, the Career Services staff partners with each Mills MBA student.
Our Mission
MBA Career Services helps students and alumnae identify and articulate their career passions and effectively prepare them for the job search process. On an ongoing basis, we develop partnerships with employers in the for-profit, nonprofit, and governmental sectors so that our students have access to resources for career information, mentoring, and networking.
A Partnership Approach
MBA Career Services is an invaluable resource for students throughout their program and an ongoing resource to alumnae. To be successful, students need to participate fully in the process.
Scope of Services
Students and alumnae are offered a full complement of services including:
- Individual career counseling on all aspects of career management and job search strategies
- Toolkit workshops with sessions including transferable skills identification, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, business etiquette, and networking techniques
- Mock interviews
- Mentorship program with industry leaders
- Industry panels
- Company tours
- Brown bag lunches on topical marketplace issues
- Job and internship postings
- Access to alumnae and industry network contacts
- A resource library including job search topics, and specific industry and functional material
- Tips for effective presentations
- Job search strategy workshop
- Strategic action in the workplace workshop
- Networking workshop
- Personal finance/money management workshop
- Salary negotiation workshop
In partnership with the Mills Career Services Office, students and alumnae are also offered:
- Self-assessment tools covering skills, values, interests, and personality type
- Career/internship fairs
- Videotaped mock interviews
