A perfection of means, and confusion of aims, seems to be our main problem.
--Albert EinsteinMy work explores how surroundings and experiences mediate our perceptions of the human body. Interaction with objects can leave a mark on our psyche via their form and function. I examine the dynamics of these interactions through visual metaphors, visceral materials, and images. I frequently use medical science and technology as a point of departure to question categories of what is natural, what is normal, what is logical, and what is desirable. I am interested in the social implications of these institutionalized categorizations and the hierarchical structures they create. My work explores these structures and how they mold our relationship to the body and its biological functions.
