"We are nothing but body: all values are bodily values."
Norman O. Brown, Life Against DeathI am interested in the complexity of systems that make up society (as in bodies, families, cities, and countries) and how they function. Just as important as completed bonds are missed, broken and impending connections and the pregnant moments they create, where something should be happening but isn't. Still, the systems function. Are these disconnects a point of breakdown? Are they actually there or only perceived? I hope to convey a sense of this tenuous state, where balance is reached through the makeshift rather than the well-oiled.
