The work in this exhibition relies on fragmentation of sounds, images, and language found in the world around me. Source material comes from the internet, scans of printed matter, audio recordings, and my own photographs, digital video, and sound recordings. The cropped and heavily computer processed fragments are arranged to yield fresh meanings and to suggest alternative configurations of history, mythology, and collective stories.

Conversion of “real” surfaces to hidden and mutable “fictions” is a cosmology, a way of life. Imagination mediates impossible conflicts, reality is fluid, personality nomadic. Time flickers in the interstices of a consensual world; forms crowd each other and flash at multiple points of emergence. My work as an artist is to find these forms and, if possible, to integrate them into the light of day.
