Peer Tutoring

Get the Most Out of Your Appointment

Be prompt.

Turn up for your appointment.

Be prepared: read the textbook and attempt your coursework.

Consider bringing your laptop if you have one. The tutor may have some websites for you to try!

Bring in your past midterms, coursework and any labwork. Please do this even if you don't want to work on these materials as they will help your tutor.

If you're comfortable, please let your tutor know about any learning disability that you have.

Ask questions.

Tell your tutor what works for your learning style!

Establish a positive rapport with your tutor.

Be attentive and willing to learn.

Make a good effort and take responsibility for your part of the learning process.

Remember: Your tutor can't proofread your work, but they can give you the tools to succeed.
