Alexandra Kostoulas:
Mainstreaming Greek Identity
San Francisco has many ethnic centers. There’s the China Town, North Beach
and the Fillmore to name a few. From the 1920’s to the late 60’s there was
also a Little Greece. The community produced labor leaders recording artists
and two of the cities mayors. But many people have never heard of SF’s old
Greek town. And all that remains now is a plaque on 3rd Street and memories.
Next Generation’s Alexandra Kostoulas traced the roots of Greeks in SF. |
