Elizabeth Kendrick:  Women of Color Resource Center

Most of the time stories about the struggles within urban communities are told by those who observe rather than experience. Not often are the voices of low-income community members heard through popular media. Instead, politicians and other outsiders speak on behalf of the community concerns. However, in Oakland, California the latest mission of the Women of Color Resource Center is to project the voices of low-income women of color throughout the radio airwaves. Elizabeth Kendrick has the story.
