TRIO—METS Program

METS Application Process

Eligibility Requirements
In order to participate in the METS program, students must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be 11–27 years old and reside and/or attend school in the Oakland area
  • Be first-generation college-bound (neither parent/guardian graduated from a four-year college)
  • Meet federal low-income guidelines
  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident (or are in the process)

Application Process
Applications are accepted year-round. Please submit a completed METS application to the Mills College TRIO Office. If you attend one of the target high schools (Castlemont High School, Coliseum College Preparatory, Fremont High School, LPS College Park, and Life Academy), you may also pick up an application from the school and submit it to your school’s main office or college center. A METS advisor will contact you once we receive your application.
