Upward Bound Program
Summer College • The residential program is for 10th–12th grade UB students who meet grade and attendance standards. Residential students live in a Mills College dormitory five days per week for five weeks. • The commuter program is for our newly accepted UB students and continuing students who do not meet the eligibility criteria to live on campus. Commuter students arrive on campus for classes beginning at 8:00 am and leave the campus to go home by 6:30 pm. All commuter students must sign-in at the assigned classroom, and sign-out at the TRIO office when departing from campus.
Academic Year During the academic year, students come to the Mills College campus for 25 Saturdays of instruction between September and May. The Saturday schedule consists of five hours of instruction, including math, English and college seminar. In addition, some Saturdays include a Town Hall community meeting. Saturday courses are taught by credentialed teachers and Mills College professors who have been specially selected to serve Upward Bound students' needs.
