Visitor Information The mission of the Mills College Library is to support the educational, teaching, research and administrative needs of Mills College. All faculty, currently-enrolled students, staff and alumnae of Mills College, in addition to participants in selected Mills-affiliated programs, have the privilege of using the Library, borrowing materials, and using computer databases and services. Access to members of the public, including students at other colleges and universities, is limited to research using specialized materials only available at Mills. Application for such use should be made to the Reference Desk (510-430-2385) or the Special Collections Librarian (510-430-2047) during regular business hours (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday). The Library will make every effort to meet the needs of scholars for access to unique collections. In addition, the Library's Web-based catalog is available for consultation at any time. Many circulating materials from Mills Collections may be available through interlibrary loan. Please contact your local library to request this service. Members of the public who are looking for a place to study, are directed to the Oakland Public Library or one of its branches. For more information, please see their website or phone their main information number at 510-238-3134. In addition, academic users may be eligible for a courtesy day-use pass at the University of California, Berkeley. For more information, see the UC Berkeley Library Visitor's Guide.
