All of the books and some of the archives and manuscripts in Special Collections are cataloged in the Mills College online system, with the Heller Room designation.
Books

•Albert M. Bender Collection: A general collection of books and manuscripts with strengths in literature, poetry, bibliography, book and printing history, fine press editions, and art. (Call number = Coll.)
• Bookbinding Collection: Examples of different types of bindings, illustrating technical, artistic, and historical features. (Call number = Binding)
• Early Printed Books: Books printed before 1800. (Call number = Early Printed)
• Fine Press Collection: Fine press, limited edition, and artists’ books (including examples of one-of-a-kind books), especially (but not exclusively) those written and/or made by women and local printers. Fine press bibliographies. Exhibition catalogues for fine press printers, book artists, the book arts, and printing history. (Call number = P [press/printer name])
• James Collection: Books about or by Shakespeare, including Shakespeare’s source material. (Call number = James)
• Juvenile Collection: Historical examples and first editions of children’s books, with a strength in books about pigs and illustrated books. (Call number = Juv.)
• Jane Bourne Parton Collection: Books and ephemera on dance and allied subjects. (Call number = Parton)
• Aurelia Reinhardt Collection on Women’s History: Books (generally non-fiction), ephemera, and journals on topics pertaining to women, with a strength in women’s suffrage, birth control, and social issues. (Call number = Reinhardt)
• Arturo Torres-Rioseco Collection: Books (including fiction, poetry, and criticism) by Latin American authors, based on the personal library of Arturo Torres-Rioseco. (Call number = Torres-Rioseco)
• Florence Walter Hand Bookbinding Collection: Books, ephemera, and journals on the subjects of bookbinding and paper. (Call number = Walter)
• West Coast Print Center Collection: Books printed at the West Coast Print Center (Berkeley, California) from the 1960s-1990s; rich in poetry and literature. (Call number = West Coast Print Center)
