Asia plays a strategic role in the balance of world power. It is also the fastest growing area of the world in terms of both population and technology. The Asian studies minor is designed to give students an understanding of the peoples of China, Japan, and India through the study of Asian art, history, culture, and literature, and to provide a background for those wishing to pursue careers in international relations or graduate work in Asian studies.
