Mills Hall 339
The Women of Color Resource Center (WCRC) was founded by students, faculty and alumnae of color at Mills College, a women's liberal arts college in Oakland, CA. The Center is run by and for women of color, including American Indian, Asian Pacific American, African Diasporic women and Latinas. The Center works closely with the Ethnic Studies Department to provide a community and educational base for women of color at Mills and in the wider community of the Bay Area.
The WCRC is dedicated to the elimination of racism, the development of leadership by young women of color and the creation of coalitions between women of diverse ethnic origins. Activities include leadership training for young women, coalition building and networking between ethnic groups, sponsorship for academic research and conferences. In addition, the center provides a safe space for women of color to drop in for support and advice during the semester time.
