Mills College Public Radio

The public radio courses introduce students to the principles of public interest journalism and the craft of audio story telling. At the same time, they allow students to delve into contemporary social issues and create original reports for broadcast. Past courses have focused on development in Oakland and public education reform.

The introductory class teaches students the basics of journalism and radio reporting, while also providing a survey on Oakland's history and contemporary social issues.

The intermediate class allows continuing students to delve into issue in depth during the semester and create original documentary reports for broadcast.

Students can also be placed in reporting internships and produce advanced documentaries for broadcast through public radio reporting at Mills.
