What You Can & Can't Recycle at Mills

Can be recycled:
White, lined & colored paper
Magazines (glossy paper okay)
Catalogues

Paper cups (empty & clean) 

Can't be recycled:

Napkins
Paper towels
Food-contaminated paper (e.g. ice cream wrappers, greasy paper bags)
Wax-coated paper cups
 

Cardboard  
Can be recycled:
Cardboard boxes
Paper towel & toilet paper rolls (not the actual paper though!)
Egg cartons
Shoe boxes
Cereal boxes
Milk, soymilk & juice cartons (empty & clean)
Can't be recycled:
Food-contaminated cardboard (e.g. pizza boxes)
Wax-coated cardboard (e.g. Chinese food take-out containers)
Glass   
Can be recycled:
All types of food and beverage containers
Can't be recycled:
Mirrors
Light bulbs
Dishware
Ceramics
 
Plastic   
Can be recycled:
All plastic containers #1-#5
2 liter soda bottles
Peanut butter jars
Detergent bottles
Milk jugs
Shrink wrap/soft plastic packaging (e.g. the plastic wrap around a 12 pack of water bottles, the plastic sealing the cereal inside a box of cheerios)
Water bottles
Bottle caps/plastic lids
Drinking straws
Yogurt containers
Plastic utensils
Ziplock bags
Plastic grocery bags
 
Can't be recycled:
 Styrofoam
Packing peanuts
Junk food wrappers (e.g. granola bar wrappers, potato chip bags)
 
Aluminum/Steel/Tin   
Can be recycled:
Soda cans
Food cans & lids (e.g. soup cans)
Clean aluminum foil (rolled up in a ball is better)
Paper clips & staples are okay
 
 

E-Waste & Universal Waste
These are materials that have hazardous components that can contaminate our air, water or soil if disposed of improperly. Please do not throw these materials in the recycling bin or the garbage.
