How to Compost at Mills 

You can put your compostable materials in the big, grey dumpsters labeled “food waste only” in back of Founders and the Rothwell Student Union or in the labeled bins inside of the Tea Shop and Suzie’s Cafe. 

Compostable Materials

All food waste
Napkins
Paper towels
Paper cups
Paper plates
Coffee grounds
Coffee filters
Tea bags
Wax-coated paper or cardboard (e.g milk or juice cartons)
Food-contaminated paper or cardboard (e.g. pizza boxes, greasy paper bags)
Spudware Utensils (utensils made of potato starch)
Clear to-go containers used at the Tea Shop/Suzies
Cardboard to-go containers

Non-compostable Materials
These materials are not compostable, please do not put them in the compost bins:

Plastic containers
Plastic packaging
Plastic bags
Glass
Ceramics
Plastic Utensils
Plastic condiment packaging (e.g. ketchup packets)
