Family Weekend
Enjoy Exploring the Mills Campus

Weather—It's Different Here
Mills has the wonderfully variable climate typical of the San Francisco Bay Area. In September and October, you might have an Indian Summer heat wave—or a foggy “winter” morning followed by a summery afternoon and a cool fall evening. It’s wise to pack so that you’re prepared for anything!

Discovering Mills
Family Weekend Hospitality Room:
Café Suzie’s, Rothwell Center just off of Suzanne Adams Plaza
Hours:

Thursday and Friday 9:00 am–10:00 pm
Saturday 3:30 pm–10:00 pm

Visit the exhibits at the Art Museum and explore the selections in the
F. W. Olin Library and the Heller Rare Book room, located in the library.

Keeping Fit
The campus running trail (start by the soccer field and circle the campus) reveals the wilder side of Mills. The Fitness Center is also available to Family Weekend guests. Day use lockers are also available. One guest can accompany a Mills community member. Family Weekend name badge plus photo ID required at the door.

Mills has beautifully refurbished lighted tennis courts. Family Weekend participants can play on a space-available basis. Court shoes must be worn. Bring your Family Weekend name badge to serve as appropriate ID and playing will be free of charge.

The Trefethen Aquatic Center is open daily for lap and recreational swim.

Campus Bookstore
You’ll find books by Mills authors as well as textbooks and Mills mementos of various kinds.

Beyond Mills’ Gates
If you’re staying on a few days to discover the Bay Area, take time to visit the many attractions of Oakland. In addition to the world renowned Oakland Museum of California with its art, natural science, and California history galleries and special exhibits, you can visit Oakland’s Chinatown, the Oakland Zoo, the Chabot Space and Science Center, the ballet, sporting events…the list goes on and on. For a complete listing of Oakland’s attractions, contact the Oakland Convention and Visitors Bureau at 510.839.9000 or visit their website at www.oaklandcvb.com.
