When you arrive on campus, please register at the locations and times noted below. At registration, we will give you a folder that includes program updates, a campus map, and a name badge that will serve as your entry pass to all events listed in the program, including Friday's President's Reception, and lunches on Friday and Saturday.
You also may want to arrive a day early to join Mills students in their classrooms and dine in Founders Commons or the Tea Shop. Meal tickets for Founders are available for purchase with cash at the door; no advance reservations are necessary.
Café Suzie, located in the Rothwell College Center, is the official hospitality room for Family Weekend guests. Simply show the staff your name badge for complimentary coffee or selected beverages and snacks. Your name badge also is your pass to access Mills athletic facilities. Please bring appropriate clothing and equipment if you wish to take advantage of our swimming pool, fitness center, tennis courts, or fitness trail.

Convocation 10:15 am Toyon Meadow Celebrate the start of the academic year with the Mills community and keynote speaker Trisha Brown ’58. Brown is a world-renowned postmodern dance choreographer, the founder of the Trisha Brown Dance Company, and the first woman choreographer to earn a MacArthur "Genius" Award.

Darius Milhaud Concert 8:00 pm–10:00 pm Art Museum Enjoy our annual chamber music concert featuring works by famed composer and former Mills faculty member Darius Milhaud. This year’s performance is dedicated to his wife, the late Madeleine Milhaud, also a gifted musician and former Mills lecturer.

In Memoriam Madeleine Milhaud, 1902–2008
Internationally acclaimed actress, musician, and teacher Madeleine Milhaud, wife of composer Darius Milhaud (1892–1974), passed away in Paris on January 17, 2008, at the age of 105. The Milhauds contributed greatly to the College’s cultural and intellectual life and helped establish Mills’ international reputation in the arts. Alumnae fondly remember Milhaud’s brilliant classes on French literature, highlighted by her superb recitations of poetic masterpieces. She is survived by her only child, artist Daniel Milhaud.

Girls’ Sports Day with the Cyclones 9:00 am–10:00 am Walter Haas Pavilion Join the Mills Cyclones as the student-athletes conduct clinics in tennis, soccer, and track and field for local girls in grades three through eight.
State of the College 10:15 am–11:30 am Lisser Hall President Janet L. Holmgren shares her vision for the future of Mills in a presentation with Alumnae Association of Mills College President Anita Aragon Bowers ’63.
Cyclone Kickoff Picnic 12:00 pm–1:15 pm Walter Haas Pavilion Meet Mills athletics coaches and student-athletes at this special picnic lunch hosted for girls from the greater Oakland community in grades three through eight.
Landscape Heritage Walking Tour of Mills College 2:00 pm–3:00 pm Mills Hall Living Room History professor Bert Gordon conducts a tour celebrating the distinctive architecture and landscape that helped Mills win one of 13 Campus Heritage grants from the Getty Foundation in 2006.
