The 120th Commencement at Mills College will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Every student who plans to graduate, or receive a credential or certificate, in January or May 2008 is encouraged to participate in the Commencement ceremonies. All of the information concerning commencement is pertinent to all graduates, whether January or May.

Reception for Students Graduating Mid-Year
All January graduates are invited to attend the Winter Celebration. This reception is held to honor the culmination of your times as a Mills student and the beginning of your life as an alumnae. It will be held in the Mills College Art Museum on Friday, December 7, 2007, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. If you would like to attend, kindly respond by November 28, 2007, to Ishara Casellas-Katz 510.430.2373 or email icasellaskatz@mills.edu. Please include the names of no more than four guests.
New Alumnae Travel Grant for Commencement
The President's Office will offer travel grants to attend Commencement on Saturday, May 17, 2008 for undergraduate and graduate students who completed their degrees in January.
Requirements for the grant include all of the following:
• degree posted by M Center in January 2008,
• completed and returned application to Student Activities at cyoungla@mills.edu or via mail to Student Activities 5000 MacArthur Blvd. Oakland, CA 94613 by Monday, March 10, 2008 at 5 pm,
• demonstrated travel need for the individual graduating,
• attendance at Commencement on Saturday, May 17, 2008.
Award funds are restricted to the following uses:
• air or ground travel to Bay Area, not lodging
• used for the individual graduating, not for family members or friends.

Seating Tickets for January Graduates
The seating ticket procedure is currently being reviewed. A Commencement packet will be mailed to all graduating students in late March with information regarding seating tickets. Please keep your mailing address current with the College so that we can reach you with this important information.
