Commencement: Private Parties 

Deadline for reservations is Friday, May 3, 4:00 pm.

Outdoor private parties are allowed on campus on Commencement day by reserving the location in advance beginning Monday, April 1, 2013, via email to Sandy Vavak in the College Events Office, conference@mills.edu. The College will not provide tables, chairs, other equipment or any set-ups for private parties, due to the demand placed on the College's equipment and personnel during Commencement weekend.

Please clean up after the party, using marked trash cans. Extra trash can liners may be obtained from the Office of Housing Management and Dining Services (HMDS), Sage Hall 138, 510.430.2127, between 9:00 am–12:00 pm & 1:00 pm–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday. There is no fee for use of the party location. However, a fee will be assessed if facilities and grounds are not cleaned up immediately following the party.

Duck Pond - by Music Building
Ethel Moore Olive Courtyard (paved area)
Ethel Moore Rhododendron Courtyard - 3 sites
Music Building Lawn
Betty Irene Moore Natural Sciences Building (NSB) - front patio
Olney/Orchard Meadow Courtyard - 2 sites
Prospect Hill Apartments - front lawn
Rothwell Center - Faculty Lounge back lawn
Rothwell Center - Strike Statue Patio
Sage Hall - lawn between NSB and Sage
Soccer Field –3 sites

Important: Interior spaces are not available for private parties, so please be prepared with a rain plan.

Alcohol Policy Acknowledgement: Private party sponsors are required to read and sign the Alcohol Policy Acknowledgement. No alcohol may be served at any of the outdoor parties.
