The College is recruiting for two part-time Counselors in Counseling and Psychological Services who would work 6-10 hours per week during the academic year.
Representative Duties
Under the direction of the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS), the Counselor provides a variety of mental health services in conjunction with the Division of Student life to promote mental health among the students, ease their adjustment to academic life, and assist in student retention.
The Counselor's primary responsibilities include the following: • Provide short-term individual and group counseling. • Offer crisis intervention and periodic after-hours coverage. • Participate in campus outreach programs. • Be available as a consultant to students, faculty, and staff. • Make referrals to off-campus mental health resources and psychiatric services. • Supervise pre-doctoral clinical psychology practicum and intern trainees. • Act in accordance with CPS and Mills College policies and procedures, American Psychological Association professional standards and guidelines, professional codes of ethics and other related state and federal laws. • Perform related duties as needed.

| Requirements |

Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and minimum two years licensure in the State of California.
- Post-licensure experience in crisis intervention, a well as brief, individual adult psychotherapy.
- Ability to exhibit strong customer service orientation for all levels of College constituencies and members of the public

Ability to take appropriate steps to promote and sustain effective working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment

Ability to work safely in compliance with College Injury and Illness Prevention Plan.
Preferred Qualifications
- For one of the positions, knowledge of and sensitivity to Latina/Latino culture and the concerns that students with this background might face. Fluency in Spanish preferred.
- Flexibility to work some evening hours highly desirable.

| Salary |
Up to $40 per hour commensurate with experience, plus benefits including FICA, Medicare, Workers' Compensation Insurance, and State Disability Insurance.
