----------
The page header style is to be used as the Page Title and should be used only once per page—at the top.
ALL CAPS is not used on the site.
---------- Article Headers
Article headers are to be used to differentiate primary sections or topics within your document.
---------- Bold Text
Bold Text is to be used to differentiate secondary sections or sub categories within a primary secion or topic.
Because bold text is now used as a means to categorize your materials, it should be used sparingly when intended to emphasize information. Rather, use italicized text or, if need be, underline text for emphasis. Keep in mind that underline text should also be used sparingly as visitors frequently assume that underline text indicates linked text.
---------- Linked text (page nav)
Always use the link button on the OmniUpdate tool bar to create links on your pages. The link button allows you to use the Link Manager to navigate to any on-campus pages for linking and provides an editable space to copy/paste in off-campus urls.
Rules for linking:
- Always use the Link Manager tool to create links.
- Any links to pages that are not within your department or go to off-campus urls, should be launch a new window. Use the "target" attribute in the Link Manager and set the value to "_blank".
- Remember to assign the pagenav style to your link. Set the style in the Link Manager.
---------- Subhead style (subhead)
The subhead style is used primarily on table of contents or index pages that link primary topic information to another sub page. The undergraduate or graduate catalog index pages are good examples of how to use the subhead style. The subhead style can only be applied using the Link Manager tool.
