Mini-Grants to Support Graduate Research

Mills is currently able to offer mini-grants of up to $500 to defray expenses associated with carrying out or presenting research and creative work. Examples include materials and supplies, transportation, lodging, conference fees, professional services, printing, software, and data. Under ordinary circumstances, this fund cannot be used to support the purchase of capital equipment (i.e. video cameras, tape recorders, etc.). Students are encouraged to consult with their advisor or other faculty member in preparing their proposal.

What Constitutes "Graduate Research" at Mills?

Scientific, scholarly, or creative work at the Masters or Doctoral level.

Who is Eligible?

All matriculating graduate students currently enrolled in an MA, MBA, MFA, MPP, or Ed.D. program at Mills College.

Funding Limits

Grant limit is $500. The granted amount may be less and is not expected to cover all project costs; it is the student's responsibility to secure additional funding from other sources.

All receipts for grants received in the academic year must be presented no later than the end of the academic year.

Students applying for research funds should use the GROP grant application. You can open the document using the following link:

Candidates should submit the application to the Provost's Office, Mills Hall room 202.

Deadline

Deadline for 2007-2008 is Friday, November 16, 2007.
