Alexandra Sirowy, Admission Counselor
asirowy@mills.edu
Alexandra is a young graduate from Mills College where she received her B.A. in International Relations. Thriving in the dynamic atmosphere of the college's government department, she was awarded nomination by faculty members to Pi Sigma Alpha, the country's only Political Science Honor Society, and a position as a Mills delegate for the Kyrgyz Republic within the National Model UN Conference in New York for college students. Through such exciting opportunities Mills fostered within her a passion for higher education and in particular issues of social justice and economic development on a global scale.
After graduation, Alexandra decided to take several years before enrolling in a PhD program with the ultimate goal of becoming a college professor. At the conclusion of world travel and time spent as a development assistant for TransFair USA, an Oakland based non-profit organization that works for free trade within the developing world, she returned to the campus she held so dear. Beginning in August of 2007 she stepped into the role of Undergraduate Admission Counselor at Mills College. She is finding her work, the meeting and counseling of inspired young minds, most fulfilling and is grateful for all her years spent as a Mills woman.
