The Alumnae Association of Mills College is governed by a Board of Governors elected from candidates nominated by an independently elected nominating committee. The Board is comprised of 27 members, including three Alumnae Trustees, a faculty representative, and regional governors. Governors serve a three-year term, unless they are appointed to fill a mid-term vacancy, in which case they sit on the Board for the remainder of that term. Alumnae Trustees and the President of the Board of Governors represent alumnae on the Mills College Board of Trustees.
The Governors are responsible for the legal entity that is the AAMC; they are responsible for the interface of the organization and the community; and they are responsible for the affairs and concerns of the organization.
