Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join the Alumnae Association?

It's free, it's easy, it's automatic! As soon as the class with which you are affiliated graduates, you are an alumna. (This is contingent upon your having successfully completed a semester's worth of credits.)

What is the relationship between the Alumnae Association and the College?

The Alumnae Association, an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, was founded in 1879. Its mission is “to promote the interests of the College and to maintain among its graduates a spirit of fellowship and service.”

The Alumnae Association and Mills College recently revised the terms under which they cooperate to achieve mutual goals. A letter to alumnae from AAMC Board of Governors President Anita Aragon Bowers ’63 and Mills College Board of Trustees Chair Vivian M. Stephenson explains these changes.

What benefits do I get as an alumna?

All alumnae receive the Mills Quarterly free of charge, an email newsletter, invitations to Reunion, and the opportunity to participate in a number of programs offered for alumnae. You are also eligible for a free alumnae email account.

Your membership card gives you access to the Mills College library, pool, fitness center, and discounts at some theater events and concerts on campus. Please contact the appropriate department for information regarding operating hours and any fees:

Contact the Office of College Events at 510.430.2145 for available dates and prices.

Is there someplace on campus I can stay when I'm in town?  What about those guest rooms in OM/EM/Olney?
