Swim Lessons

Offered year-round!

Spring swim lessons registration opens Saturday, February 27, 10:30-1:00 pm. Lesson level availability on first-come first-served basis.
After registration opens, register for lessons in person at the pool anytime during Lap Swim or Recreation Swim open hours.

Spring Swim Group Lessons
April 4 through June 9

  • 2 lessons a week for 3 weeks
  • M/W or T/Th lessons
  • $75 per session; includes parking pass for duration of registered session.*

Session Dates:
Session 1: April 4-April 21
Session 2: April 25-May 12
Session 3: May 23-June 9**
**Sess 3 prorated one day. Pool closed and no lessons on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day.

Comp Swim (Competitive Swim)

  • One hour
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • 4:30 pm–5:30 pm
  • 3 week session $150

In Comp Swim participants will learn strokes and skills they will need and want 8for comfort, technique and performance in competitive swimming. Taught in a recreational environment, the course includes stroke technique in all four competitive strokes, flip turns, lane etiquette for swim team practice meets, breath control, how to train for comfort and performance, and other competitive swimming skills. This program is designed for children ages 5-14 who are interested in the competitive swimming environment, looking for a healthy and fun exercise, and who want to learn how to become a stronger swimmer.

This is a three week course and practices are held twice a week. Minimum skills include the ability to safely swim 25-yards (one length of the pool), have a basic understanding of any of the four competitive swimming strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly), and be independent in the water. (Coaches are not in the water.)

Comp Swim is a great way to build skills, technique and an aerobic base to prepare for the Junior Mills Swim Team, the "Twisters." The Twisters is a summer program, and will practice June 20-August 11, 2016.

*Parking on the Mills College campus will be limited and monitored for parking passes. An official parking pass for the current session is necessary at all times on the Mills College campus.

Partial scholarships available based on need and availability.

Private Swim Lessons

  • Offered year around
  • All ages, all skill levels
  • Thirty minute lessons–$40 for one student, $60 for two students (swimmers must be at a similar skill level).
  • Arranged to meet your schedule
  • You can print the Private Lesson Request Form below and mail it in or come to the pool and complete a request for private lessons.
