Prior to her time at Mills, Laché served as the assistant cross country coach at San Francisco State in 2003, the head track and field coach at Piedmont Middle School in 2004, and also as the head cross country and track and field assistant at Louisville High School from 2009–10. As a bay area native, Laché began her running career at El Cerrito High School, where she ran both cross country and track and field events. Laché went on to compete collegiately at San Francisco State University, where she won the CCAA Conference Championship and placed third at the NCAA Division II National Championships in the 800m. In 2000, Laché transferred to University of California, Berkeley on a full athletic scholarship and was a two-time NCAA All-American in the 800m. In her free time, Laché still enjoys competing and continues to run. In 2008 she qualified for the USA Olympic Trials and holds a personal best record of 2:05 in the 800m.
