Cross Country Prospective Student-Athletes Whether you have been running for years or are a first-time runner, the Mills cross country team welcomes anyone who enjoys the sport of running, is willing to be committed to the team, and wants to become a stronger athlete. The team practices Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Most of our practices are held up in the beautiful Oakland hills, where we run on trails through redwood forests, by streams and lakes, and enjoy some of the Bay Area's most spectacular nature. Weekly practices also include one hour per week of yoga. For competitions, the team travels to many California locations, and occasionally to places like San Diego, Washington, Oregon, or Hawaii. Student-athletes who have shown their commitment to the team by regularly attending practices and meets will get to go on these trips. If you are interested in being a part of the Mills cross country team, the best thing you can do for yourself is to start running over the summer so you come into the season ready to train. While this is not a requirement to be on the team, it is strongly encouraged, as the training during the season will be more enjoyable for you if you have the summer mileage to build upon. For suggestions on how to train over the summer, click on the link below. Contact the head coach with any questions, and fill out the following questionnaire. Summer Running (36k doc)
