Swimming Coaching Staff Head swimming coach Neil Virtue has been coaching swimming for over ten years and has coached swimmers of every age, background, and experience. A four year varsity letter winner at the University of Washington, Neil turned to coaching shortly after graduation.From 1995–96, Neil was the head age group coach at McClintock High School and the interim head coach at Tempe Rio Salado, both in Tempe, AZ.
Neil then moved to Montana, where from 1997–2001 he served as the head coach of the Kalispell Aquatic Team and Masters Program, as well as the Flathead High School swim team. Neil was also appointed to serve as the head coach of the Montana team at the West Zone Championships, where he and his team earned the Adam Schmitz Spirit Award.
Following his success in Montana, Neil moved to collegiate swimming where he served as a graduate assistant coach for the University of Missouri swim team while also studying sports psychology.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Neil serves as a physical education instructor and fitness center supervisor. In his time outside Mills, Neil volunteers at the Berkeley Free Health Clinic and hosts swim technique clinics in association with the Women's Cancer Resource Center's Swim-A-Mile For Women With Cancer.
