The Mills College Intercollegiate Volleyball Program was established in 1981 with a foundation of team camaraderie and love of the sport. The team continues to focus on the development of athletes in an upbeat learning environment which encourages enjoyment of the sport and team cohesion. Athletes are supported as they strive for mastery of volleyball as well as life skills and personal growth.

The Mills volleyball team has a dual affiliation with the NAIA and the NCAA Division III, and is a member of the California Pacific Conference. Typically, the schedule includes 22 intercollegiate matches and has included travel to the East Coast, Colorado, Oregon and Southern California in recent years. Mills has been extremely successful on these trips, winning the Seven Sisters Tournament and the Regis Invitational Tournament.
