Cross Country runner Lupe Cazares qualifies for NAIA national championships

Lupe Cazares (Ventura, CA/ Ventura HS), a junior runner and team captain on the Mills college cross country and track and field teams, qualified for National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championships with her sixth place finish at the California Pacific conference championships on Friday, November 7th. Cazares, an International Relations major, clinched her qualification with a time of 19:35 on the hilly 5k course at Crystal Springs, CA. By placing among the top five individual runners not on the first place team, Cazares earned an invitation to race next weekend in Kenosha, Wisconsin against the top NAIA runners in the country.
