American Medical Student Association: Mills College Organization Type: Academic To prepare students for admission to medical school; to gain first hand culturally diverse experience of the practice of medicine; to apply out knowledge and experiences to helping undeserved women, promote universal healthcare and dedicate ourselves to serving our community.
Anime Alliance Organization Type: Special Interest We the members of the Anime Alliance, shall respectfully explore and celebrate aspects of modern Japanese culture and customs, focusing mainly on Japanese Animation (Anime); provide an environment for artistic expression of Anime themes including, but not limited to: original artwork, costumes, original written works, original musical works, original animated works, etc.; examine several Anime genres and their meanings, if any; compare those meanings, as told by the authors, with the meanings we construe from the viewing; openly discuss our personal opinions on the topics presented in a welcoming environment.
Asian Pacific Islander Sisterhood Alliance Organization Type: Cultural/Ethnic Heritage To create a positive environment on the Mills campus where students of Asian and Pacific Islander ancestry can discuss important issues, such as identity, culture, art, and politics. We work together to build alliances with our sister organizations, to plan fun and educational events, and to increase awareness of and within our community.
Barakat Foundation Organization Type: Special Interest Barakat college chapters promote the mission to improve the well being of marginalized groups in South and Central Asia on their campuses. They partner with local and national organizations to bring events and fundraisers to their community. In the first year, campus chapters focus on becoming an official campus organizations and builiding membership. We ask that once established, each chapter hold two events a semester. Events may include, but are not limited to, fundraisers, cultural events, film festivals, lectures, and panels. Events may also take place in the larger community such as participation at town events or presentations at local grade schools.
Badminton Club Organization Type: Recreational The badminton club is a club where students are able to socialize, play, and have fun!!! What do we do?? We play badminton of course. Anyone and everyone welcomed. Even if you have never played before, there are plenty of opportunities to learn. Hope to see you on the courts.
The Big Cheese Organization Type: Special Interest The purpose of the Big Cheese is to educate the Mills student body about the joys of cheese. Members will learn about the history of cheese, the cheese-making proves, and the environmental and economic effects of cheese (as well as the effects of globalization on this cultural art form and pastime). T.B.C. will provide a safe space for members to develop a sophisticated palate for international cheeses. T.B.C. will not discriminate against those with dietary restrictions (i.e. lactose intolerance).
Black Women's Collective Organization Type: Cultural/Ethnic Heritage The purpose of BWC is to foster a community among Black woman here at Millls College. BWC has dedicated to ourselves, the Mills Community, and the outside larger community.
The Campanil Organization Type: Publication It is our aim to bring current news, with as little bias as possible, to the student body and community at large of Mills College. We pledge to act as a mouthpiece for the students of Mills College to ensure that all opinions, when voiced to us in written form, will be published, with no exception of anonymous submissions.
Choice USA Organization Type: Social/Political Action Choice USA mobilizes and provides ongoing support to the diverse, upcoming generation of leaders who promote and protect reproductive choice both now and in the future.
The Crafters' Collective Organization Type: Arts To create a place and environment where Mills students can socialize with fellow students who knit, crochet, sew, etc. As a meeting ground for crafting, The Crafters' Collective will also serve to teach those who wish to learn how to craft and expand crafting skills.
The Crest Organization Type: Publication To collect and maintain photos and information of Mills events alongside representation of the clubs and organizations to be published in the yearbook.
Cybelly Dance Club Organization Type: Arts & Performing This is a club for belly dancers and fans of belly dance! We hold informal group classes, movie nights, and dance events. Members also get the latest info on all of the amazing classes and events going on in the Bay Area. Belly Dance experience not required!
Dance Club Organization Type: Arts & Performing Dance Club/Team is a discipline, making dancer's practice and work on a desired goal and technique as a team. Dance Club/Team gives the dancer an opportunity to work with others, developing teamwork, cooperation, and sense of "belonging." Dance Club/Team provides an opportunity for performance, a sharing experience, either as a participant or as an audience member.
The Dirty Knees Organization Type: Recreational The purpose of The Dirty Knees is to revive the Underwood gardening plot; to plant, maintain, and harvest seasonal crops; to build community while learning about the garden process.
Economics Club Organization Type: Career Related/Academic The purpose of the Economic Club is to provide support and opportunities for anyone with an interest in Economics. We work to make economics more
accessible to everyone and promote personal growth through economic and personal finance education.
Fem Dems Organization Type: Social/Political Action Mills College Democrats (Fem Dems) promotes a proactive political community from which to volunteer on Democratically endorsed local and national campaigns and heighten political participation within the Mills community through education and constructive discourse.
ICL Campus Connections Organization Type:Social/Political Action Foster continuing connections between the Institute for Civic Leadership scholar alumnae; to create fellowship with ICL alumnae and current ICL scholars; to create a space to network with other social justice-focused students in order to share ideas and participate in activism and community projects; to build alliances and work to garner support for the ideals of women's leadership, social justice and civic engagement through administration and community members of the ICL program at Mills.
Infinite Potential The purpose of Infinite Potential is to cultivate a culture that motivates students to actively engage in the self-fulfillment of one another's highest potential by providing events and untapped resources to aid our peers in three ways: academically, financially, and socially.
InsaniTea Organization Type: Academic, Recreational, Special interest To foster interdisciplinary community involvement in study groups while drinking tea and sharing experiences which we can then use to further our understanding of our own experience.
Jewish Student Union Organization Type: Religious To enrich and feed Mills Jewish community as well as strive to bring about greater understanding of Judaism and Jewish culture. This will be done through Jewish and Israel-related events, such as the annual Passover Seder, participation in the festival of Light and Dark, monthly Shabbat potlucks, film, dialogues, lectures and other to-be determined events.
M.E.Ch.A. Organization Type: Social/Political Action Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (M.E.Ch.A) de Mills College is a student organization that unites all Chicano students in their quest to enhance the development of all Chicanas/os in our society through education.
Mills Disability Alliance Organization Type: Social/Political Action (Diversity Related) To build a community of support and awareness around disability-related issues. We look to find solutions to issues of discrimination. Through discussion and critical thinking we strive to promote a healthy and respectful environment for all students, staff, and faculty to grow in their understanding and advocacy for persons with disabilities. Our goal is that the results of advocacy for persons with disabilities will benefit the entire Mills community.
Mills Earth C.O.R.P.S. (Community Organized to Respect, Protect, and Sustain the earth) Organization Type: Social/Political Action We are a community organized to respect, protect, and serve the environment. We organize student activities and promote practices that encourage environmental awareness and sustainability among students and staff. We work to acquire new resources and outlets for the community to become more sustainable, as well as support administrative policies to "green" the campus.

Mills French Club Organzation Type: Sepcial Interest The Mills French Club is for anyone interested in the language, culture, history and literature of France.
Mills Leadership Action of Tomorrow (MLAT) Organization Type: Academic Create awareness about the current immigration issues that affect our communities, through the collection of information from valid sources and to discuss how these issues affect students in higher education.
Mills Pagan Alliance Organization Type: Religious A primary purpose is to get this organization revitalized in order to provide a space for pagans, wiccans, shamans, and anyone interested or curious to come and meet, talk, confer and rally together as a single voice. It is definitely to be a representative organization on campus. A main focus would be education, both within and without the organization, and by that I mean to talk and educate each other as to what are the various faiths and paths, the interplay between each and so on. It would also be educational for the entire Mills Community because a goal is to have info sessions as to what the MPA is, what the different faiths and paths are, and to break down boundaries, as well as to correct any misinformation propagated by the media and society. We have had talks about having public rituals open to the community's involvement, and to have leaders come speak on campus.
Mills Parenting Alliance Organization Type: Academic The purpose of the club is to provide a support group for all parenting students who attend Mills College and as a group work towards improving the resources available on the campus of Mills College.
Mills College Players Organization Type: Arts & Performing To act as a student-run theater company, and a resource for those interested in theater and the dramatic arts.
Mills Psychology Club Organization Type: Academic The psychology club provides a forum in which any student can interact with others who have similar interests. The meetings are designed to fill a number of functions including providing a way for people to get to know one another, discuss local as well as global issues, discover employment opportunities, explore a variety of local mental health services and interesting topics that the field has to offer. Most importantly we are a group that is dedicated to improving the mental health of our local community by lifting spirits with simple acts.
Mouthing Off Organization Type: Social/Political Action Mouthing Off provides a safe space to address queer issues. Activities will include education, discussions, activism and hosting events.
Mujeres Unidas Organization Type: Cultural/ Ethnic Heritage To serve the various needs of the Chicana-Latina population at Mills College, with respect to and in order to honor our community and share our culture. We foster development among the Chicanas-Latinas here on campus through active recruitment and retention of Chicanas and Latinas.
Muslim Students Association Organization Type: Religious The purpose of the Muslim Students Association is to serve as a support group for Muslim Students and an outlet of awareness about Islam for non-Muslim students on campus. In doing so, MSA aims to clarify misconceptions, while introducing the just beauty of this peaceful faith to who ever is interested.
National Society of Collegiate Scholars at Mills Organization Type: Career Related To recognize and celebrate high achievement among the first and second year students in all academic disciplines; encourage and promote high standards throughout the collegiate experience; provide opportunities for personal growth and leadership development for members; provide scholarships, such as the Merit Award, Scholar Abroad, Scholar at Sea, and Graduate School to members who successfully apply and compete for these awards; organize and encourage learning opportunities through community service; foster an overall appreciation for the value of the higher education experience; and continue to uphold the standards determined by the Association of College Honor Societies as part of the organization's membership.
Native American Student Alliance Organization Type: Cultural/Ethnic Heritage & Social/Political Action To increase the number, visibility and retention of Native American, American Indian, and first Nations students in the Mills College community, foster alliances with other student groups, and facilitate Bay Area Indian and Mills community interaction through Native Heritage month events and the Medicinal Healing Garden. NASA members also serve as the advisory and organizing committee for the Mills College Native Alliance Powwow.
Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity Organization Type: Academic, Career, Social/Political Action To form a strong bond uniting students in a fraternal fellowship designed to advance the ideals of liberty and equal justice under law; to stimulate excellence in scholarship; to inspire the virtues of compassion and courage; to foster integrity and professional competence; to promote the welfare of its members; and to encourage their moral, intellectual, and cultural advancement; so that each member may enjoy a lifetime of honorable professional and public service.
Queer Melanin Organization Type: Social/Political Action To create a welcoming and supportive environment for queer, lesbian, gay , bisexual, and transgender Mills students of all melanin persuasions.
Sisters Inspiring Sisters Organization Type: Academic Our goal is to nurture young women's optimism, creativity, and confidence using a big sister/little sister model. By engaging these young women in activities that encourage their academic and leadership development, little sisters are guided to explore and find their areas of interest. It is our belief that focused academic tutoring paired with captivating empowerment activities will increase their confidence only to unlock their full potential.
S.P.O.O.K.I.E.S. Organization Type: Special Interest S.P.O.O.K.I.E.S. which stands for Students who Particularly Obsess over "kreepy, interesting, events of the superanatural is to relax, have fun, and discuss the Supernatural in novels, films, shows, and documentaries. The members will also discuss the differences between the novel and film interpretations of certain legends, myths, and supernatural events.
Student Athlete Advisory Committee Organization Type: Special Interest A student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athlete lives on NCAA member institution campuses. Functions of campus SAACs: Promote communication between athletics administration and student-athletes. Disseminate information. Provide feedback and insight into athletics department issues. Generate a student-athlete voice within the campus athletics department formulation of policies. Build a sense of community within the athletics program involving all athletics teams. Solicit student-athlete responses to proposed conference and NCAA legislation. Organize community service efforts. Create a vehicle for student-athlete representation on campus wide committees (e.g. student government). Promote a positive student-athlete image on campus. Members of a campus SAAC have the opportunity to address issues affecting student athletes at their institution; furthermore, members have the opportunity to offer input on issues which my be national in scope.
The Walrus Organization Type: Publication To design and execute a unique and creative collection of submitted work which will be decided upon by staff members. To uphold the fine reputation which has been yearly re-established by previous publications of the walrus and its staff members. To create a copy worthy of following last years hit 50th anniversary edition.
Women's Health Resource Center Organization Type: Social/Political Action Provide a student-run, comprehensive and confidential women’s health resource center for the students of Mills College.
Women's Open-Minded Empowerment Network Organization Type: Special Interest W.O.M.E.N. strives to bring Mills women together in a respectful, supportive, and confidential environment to center and validate women's voices and perspectives, highlighting their legitimacy in a context in which they are often devalued and challenging the male hegemony of the academic canon. Finding commonalities in our individual experiences will form the basis upon which we can build a larger critical analysis of the ways in which society systemically marginalizes women. As we develop our feminist awareness, surrounded by other women in a setting where we have voice and validation, we will become empowered to create positive change in the world.
Workers of Faith Organization Type: Religious Workers of Faith is a Christian student fellowship at Mills College, committed to the integrations of faith with social action through engaging and serving the needs of our communities. Committed to studying the Bible with critical thinking, we believe in the Bible's power to change individual lives as well as systems.
Toastmasters—The Word Mill Organization Type: Publication Our organization empowers people to achieve their full potential and realize their dreams. Through our member clubs, people throughout the world can improve their communication and leadership skills, and find the courage to change.
Vagina Friendly Club Organization Type: Special Interest The purpose of the Vagina Friendly Club is to serve as a way for Vagina awareness to be spread around campus. The club would like to let the issues be known, issues that face vaginas everyday in our society.
VetNet: Pre-Vet/Animal Rights Organization Organization Type: Career Related VetNet is dedicated to informing Mills students who have academic interests in Veterinary studies and interests pertaining to Animal Rights. Students interested in pre-veterinary studies will gain access and an understanding of the prerequisites required for vet school determined by the AAVMC, internships, volunteer opportunities, and jobs. We encourage awareness on animal rights and learning more about animal behavior around campus. Join VetNet to earn a great network experience, where we all support, encourage and teach each other about our beloved furry friends.
