Roundtable Cohort Graduation In May 2008, WLI graduated its first cohort of Roundtable Fellows. This groundbreaking 2006–2008 Cohort sends out six confident and strong women leaders into a variety of fields, from public radio reporting to academia to early childhood education.
Annual Portfolio Presentation In April 2008, the members of the first cohort of WLI Roundtable Fellows presented their research projects to the Mills Community, in an event attended by 50 faculty, staff, and administrators.
Rapport Speaking Workshop Collaborated with the Mills College Institute for Civic Leadership in bringing Christina Harbridge Law, a nationally recognized trainer in public speaking, to campus. Numerous Roundtable Fellows participated in this training in preparation for their Portfolio Presentations.
Annual Retreat WLI launched the 2008 New Year with a bang in January through its first Annual Retreat. Attended by both cohorts of WLI Roundtable Fellows, the retreat worked to develop the Institute's 2008–2010 strategic plan.
Constitution Initiative In honor of the 220-year anniversary of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, the Women's Leadership Institute (WLI) at Mills College announced its 21st Century Constitution Initiative, a contest for Mills community members—including alumnae—to write a more inclusive constitution or develop a related idea.
Annual AAMC/WLI Literary Salon In collaboration with the Alumnae Association of Mills College, WLI mounted the 2007 Second Annual AAMC/WLI Literary Salon. WLI Roundtable Fellow Roxane Soucy served as a co-facilitator and more than 90 members of the Mills community came to interact with the ten artists who presented their work.
