Supporting Scholarships The continued rise of college tuition nationwide means that many would-be students cannot afford to earn bachelor’s or graduate degrees. Others work long hours or rely on loans to get through. Average student debt has more than doubled in the past decade and often limits graduates’ options for advanced study or career development. Mills College has made a commitment to offering an outstanding education to students while keeping this education affordable. In August 2010, U.S. News and World Report ranked Mills second among colleges and universities in the West in its “Great Schools, Great Prices” category in recognition of the College’s high academic quality relative to the net cost of attendance for students receiving financial aid. This is the second consecutive year that Mills has received this distinction. Our commitment to our students is achievable, even as the need for financial aid increases, because of the thousands of donors who support scholarships at Mills every year. Learn how you can support students through one-year named scholarships, starting at $5,000, or endowed scholarships, starting at $50,000, which give you the opportunity to name a scholarship in honor of a family member, friend, professor, mentor, or organization. You may also support scholarships through your gifts to the Mills College Annual Fund. |
