DOCTORAL STUDENT SARA TRUEBRIDGE RECEIVES HOWARD M. SOULE FELLOWSHIP

Oakland, CA - Sara Truebridge, a student in the Mills College doctoral program in educational leadership (EdD) is one of two international recipients of the 2005 Howard M. Soule Fellowship for Doctoral Studies. A member of the California State University/Hayward Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, she received $1,500 toward her studies.

In addition to pursuing her doctoral degree, Truebridge is studying for an educational administrative credential at Mills.

According to Truebridge, “my doctoral research focuses on bridging research on resiliency theory to practice.  As an educator, I am committed to supporting and influencing educational practices and policies, and advancing a global perspective focusing on human strengths, capacities, and dignity.”

She added, “The Soule Fellowship supports and encourages everyone who studies, embraces, and exhibits the power of resiliency.”

The Mills EdD program enables leaders to effectively serve a diverse constituency, to evaluate and implement new ideas for teaching and learning, and to develop the role of the administrator as a manager and leader in school change.
