Harvesting Change: Farmworker Rights Conference at Mills College
Oakland, CA–October 12, 2011 Mills College, known for its unwavering commitment to social justice, will be the site of “Harvesting Change,” an independently organized TEDxFruitvale conference on October 14. The conference will bring together farmworkers and farmers, activists and artists, students and professors to discuss the role of farmworkers throughout history, the progress of the labor movement compared to other social justice movements, and fair labor practices.
The conference is sponsored by the Bon Appétit Management Company Foundation, the food service provider for Mills College, and hosted by Mills College’s Institute for Civic Leadership, Office of Student Activities, Diversity & Social Justice Resource Center, Lokey Net Impact @ Mills College, and the Mills Botanic Garden.
