Mills College Announces Exciting New Summer Course Schedule
Oakland, CA–March 20, 2013 Students, business professionals, writers, scientists, teachers, and members of the community in search of some intellectual summertime activity will be inspired by the array of classes being offered at Mills College this summer.
Committed to providing students with access to education of the highest caliber, Mills will offer 28 summer courses spanning eight academic departments. From financial accounting to hip-hop pedagogy, these summer courses promise to provide the type of exciting academic experience that is unique to the College.
Artists, writers, and literary enthusiasts can choose from an assortment of art history studies, book art, creative writing, and grammar classes. Individuals interested in education or ethnic studies can register for classes such as Vampires; Monsters and Saviors; or Race, Gender, and the Internet.
In keeping with its long tradition of advancing women in science and technology, undergraduate summer classes in chemistry and psychology will also be part of the course schedule at Mills. In addition, a variety of graduate courses in English, business, and child development will offer creative and challenging curriculum in a stimulating environment.
Summer classes will run May 20, 2013–July 5, 2013, and are open to the general public as well as to Mills undergraduate and graduate students and alumnae/i. Offered for credit or for audit, undergraduate courses are open to women and graduate-level courses are open to both women and men.
Registration will begin at 9:00 am on April 8, 2013.
