Accessing Services

Students with disabilities who need academic adjustments, auxiliary aids, physical access, or other types of accomodations should contact Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) in the Division of Student Life.

The steps to follow are:

1. Register with Services for Students with Disabilities

After obtaining documentation of eligibility as a student with a disability, SSD will determine the appropriate accommodation or set of accommodations. Accommodations (if appropriate) may include notetakers, readers, scribes and/or auxilary aids.

2. Deliver SSD accommodations memo to the instructor. SSD will provide a confidential memo indicating the accommodation(s) to which the student is entitled. The student is responsible for delivering this to the instructor. The form requires signatures of the student, the SSD director and the instructor.

3. Return original memo to the SSD Office. The student and instructor should each keep a copy.
