Services for Students with Disabilities

Mission Statement

Services for Students with Disabilities' guiding principle affirms disability as an essential part of our diverse society and the campus community in which we live, work, and learn.  Therefore, in partnership with colleagues across our campus, we will work together to assure access to all classes, programs, activities and services.  We are committed to fostering a learning environment at Mills that is aware, inclusive, usable, and transformative for all students.

SSD provides opportunities for counsel, advocacy, and advising for students with disabilities, ensuring their full inclusion into the college community and supporting a successful academic and personal experience while at Mills. SSD often serves as a liaison between students and faculty, making available opportunities to discuss questions and concerns about access and inclusion with any member of the Mills community. Students may also work with SSD to secure academic accommodations such as extended time on exams, class relocations, and notetakers, as well as support with residential and housing issues that are disability related.

Appointments can be made by stopping by, or calling the Front Desk at Cowell, 510.430.2130.
