Tuition, Fees & Typical Student Expenses

Undergraduate | Graduate

On this page we present some typical student expense budgets for the 2008-2009 school year. While the tuition and fees included in these budgets are fixed, other expenses--books, housing and food, etc.--are estimates used by the Financial Aid Office to calculate student need.  For detailed information about housing and meal plans, go to the Tuition and Fees page.

Undergraduate

A typical full-time budget for an undergraduate living on campus includes the following:

Tuition $34,170
Room and Board
(Based on single room and 19 meals per week plan)

Student Activity Fee $140
Campus Comprehensive Fee $880

Health Insurance *
(Unless you are an international student, you can waive out of this fee if you are covered by a family plan.

Books and Supplies (estimate) $1,300
Personal and Miscellaneous Expenses (estimate) $2,000
TOTAL EXPENSES $51,784

* Non-immigrant international students' Health Insurance fee is $2,200.

Graduate

A typical budget for an independent graduate student living on campus includes:

Tuition (full-time, except for Studio Art) $25,072
Room and Board $11,270
Campus Comprehensive Fee $880
Health Insurance
(Unless you are an international student you can  
waive out of this fee if you are covered by a family plan)
$2,200
Books $1,300
Personal and Miscellaneous Expenses (estimate) $2,000
TOTAL EXPENSES $42,722



A typical budget for a commuting graduate student includes:

Tuition (full-time, except for Studio Art) $25,072
Housing, Food and Personal Expenses (estimate) $10,150
Campus Comprehensive Fee $880
Personal & Miscellaneous Expenses (estimate) $2,000
Health Insurance
(Unless you are an international student, you can
waive out of this fee if you are covered by a family plan)
$2,200
Books $1,300
Local Transportation $1,140
TOTAL EXPENSES $42,742


Graduate Tuition Charges:

Full-time (2 or more credits, except Studio Art) $25,072
Part-time (1.0 - 1.75 credits) $6,272 per course credit


Exception:

Graduate Full-time Studio Art Tuition  $30,072
