Welcome
Welcome to Mills College! Your health is an important part of your academic success at Mills. Mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness enables you to remain resilient and move forward towards achieving your goals. As a new student, there are several important health resources available to support you and your academic success. The Health Programs Unit is one of several resources within the Division of Student Life available to help you maintain your health. The following information provides an overview of the available health and wellness resources, as well as important reminders to assist you in your transition to Mills!
Health Programs At-a-Glance
Mills College collaborates with the University Health Services (UHS) at UC Berkeley to provide health care services to all undergraduate and graduate students. Learn about this important collaboration and the services available to you at Mills and the UHS Tang Center.
Understanding Health at Mills
All Mills students are required to have major medical insurance. Get information about "Basic Medical Services" and the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) to use in making important healthcare decisions.
Fee Waiver Reminder
As a Mills student you are automatically enrolled in SHIP. If you decide to waive out of the insurance plan, it is important that you provide proof of comparable medical insurance coverage and submit a completed "Medical Waiver Form" by August 1, 2008.
Immunization Recommendations
While Mills does not require vaccinations, the Center for Disease Control and the American College Health Association recommend specific immunizations for college-age students. Please click the link above to see their immunization recommendations.
