Anne Staunton, PhD, MPH
Manager, Wellness and Community Outreach
Cowell Building, Room 123
Appointments: 510.430.2130
Direct: 510.430.2260
Email: astaunton@mills.edu

Anne provides coaching, education, support, information, referrals and resources on a variety of health and wellness topics and issues. She meets individually with students and organizes group activities.  She works with students and partners to create online and campus education, including wellness education and events on campus. Find out information and events here using the link to a real-time calendar.  And check out events, information and internship opportunities at the Mills Health Facebook Page.

She leads a Wellness Action Group (WAG) made up of student volunteers who support wellness education, promotion, outreach and assessment activities. Classes and events span a broad range of potential topics including sexual and reproductive health, self and body image, wellness and balance, integrative nutrition, immunizations and check-ups, alcohol, drugs and tobacco, safety and injury prevention, safe dating, sexual assault prevention, cancer prevention, stress and depression, healthy relationships, communication skills, bystander intervention and holistic, mind-body wellness.

As the Mills Health Plan Administrator, Anne ensures that students are informed about health insurance options, enrollment and providers and that students know how to access care. Enrollment occurs during the main annual Open Enrollment period (7/1–8/31), when all students are required to enroll in or waive the Mills coverage (find out more how to enroll or waive here) and a secondary Open Enrollment Period, for new students entering in the Spring Term or for those who wish to make changes to their enrollment (12/1–1/31).

Anne also supports risk reduction and harm reduction work in the Division of Student Life with education, prevention, policy, protocols and response in the areas of sexual assault, alcohol and drug use at Mills.

Anne is the staff advisor for the Community Health Resource Center (CHRC), a student organization that provides confidential peer advice, information and materials related to sexual and reproductive health. Visit the CHRC in Cowell 108, email chrc@mills.edu or visit the CHRC Facebook page for more information.
