Welcome to the Mills College Self-Guided Computer Orientation. The following document will guide you through the steps of setting up your Mills username and  password, accessing the Mills Resource Portal, checking your email, connecting to MyFiles (personal file storage), and learning about student lab locations and rules. Connecting Your On-Campus Personal Computer
to the Internet

Only after you have completed the Self-Guided Computer Orientation tutorial will you be able to configure your personal computer for Internet access. Once you have completed the tutorial, go to the Connecting Your Personal Computer to the Mills Network link to view the appropriate instructions for configuration of your personal computer. Laptop and desktop wireless and/or Ethernet cards must be installed before your computer can configured for Internet access! Installation of all network cards is the responsibility of the student.

About Wireless Cards

Most 802.11b or 802.11g (NOT 802.11a) wireless cards will work on the Mills College network. However, please understand that signal strength can vary from card to card. Computing Services urges you to read reviews on individual cards prior to purchase to help ensure your satisfaction with wireless connectivity on campus.
